Bruce R. Horsley

Bruce R. Horsley obtained an Honors Business Administration degree from the University of Western Ontario in 1977, and was employed by Ernst & Ernst, Chartered Accountants in September 1977.

He obtained his chartered accounting designation (CA) in 1980, and continued to work with the firm dividing his time equally between Corporate Finance, and Accounting and Auditing. 

In 1983, Mr. Horsley was assigned responsibility for the Corporate Finance practice within the Hamilton office and proceeded to focus wholly on Corporate Finance and Business Valuations.  Mr. Horsley obtained his Chartered Business Valuator (CBV) professional designation in 1987; he became Partner-In-Charge of the Corporate Advisory Services practice for the Hamilton office of Thorne Ernst and Whinney in 1989.  

When Thorne Ernst & Whinney merged with Peat Marwick in 1989 and became KPMG Chartered Accountants, Mr. Horsley became a Corporate Advisory Services Partner. 

Mr. Horsley joined MacGillivray Partners in 1991 as Partner-In-Charge of the Financial Advisory Services practice for the Hamilton office.  Within four years he joined Ernst & Young Chartered Accountants as Partner-In-Charge of Financial Advisory Services practice for the Hamilton office and later supervised completion of business valuation and economic loss reports for five offices of Ernst & Young. 

Mr. Horsley received his Certified Fraud Examiner credentials in 1995 and founded Horsley & Associates Inc. in 1998. He obtained the CICA professional designation of IFA in 2000.

Mr. Horsley has been involved in the presentation of numerous seminars to a wide variety of professional advisors; as well, he is the author of articles on business valuations, accounting investigations, financing, business plans, business acquisitions and divestitures.
