The Canadian Institute of Chartered Business Valuators (CICBV) is Canada’s leading professional organization related to business valuation; the professional designation within this organization is Chartered Business Valuator (CBV). The Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants (CICA) has accredited the CICBV as the only body whose designation leads to recognition as a CA-designated specialist in business valuation. The CSV's apply their skills in a wide variety of areas including business securities valuation, financial litigation support, mergers, divestitures, and corporate finance advisory services. Chartered Business Valuators are generally considered by the courts, Canada Customs and Revenue Agency, and others to be experts in business valuation for the purpose of settling disputes. The CICBV has discipline procedures in place to enforce its stringent code of ethics.
